About

Ben Miller

Comedian, actor, and (apparently) novelist

Ben Miller has had what might charitably be called a varied career. He trained as a physicist, gave it up to become one half of a BAFTA-winning comedy duo, then spent a couple of decades turning up on your telly in things like Bridgerton, Death in Paradise, and Professor T — usually playing someone slightly exasperated.

Somewhere along the way he also became a Sunday Times bestselling children's author, with thirteen books to his name.

His latest book, A Very Dangerous Pursuit, is his first for adults — a prequel to John Buchan's The Thirty-Nine Steps, because clearly writing his own characters wasn't enough; he had to go and borrow someone else's too.

He lives in the English countryside, with a growing collection of vintage watches and an enduring belief that Richard Hannay would have made an excellent dinner party guest.
